Primary 3 Science homework


Science experiment homework


This week primary 3 have been investigating how plants absorb water…
complete our experiment at home and bring your results to school on Monday or Tuesday next week so we can compare our results.

You will need:
• 1 stick of celery with leaves or a white carnation • food colouring              • a glass or a cup • Water • A marker

1. Half fill a glass with water.
2. Add enough red food colouring to the glass of water to colour the water.
3. Cut the stem off each plant about 1cm from the end.
4. Place the celery stick or the white carnation into one glass of water.
5. Mark the level of water in the glass with your marker. Leave it for a day or two on a shelf.
6. Regularly check the glass to a see what is happening. What do you think will happen?
7. Bring your results to school on Monday or Tuesday please.
